Features of Herringbone SPC Flooring
Appearance features: The herringbone SPC floor is laid in a herringbone pattern, which has a unique visual effect and can increase the layering and three-dimensional sense of space. The simulated wood grain provides a visual effect similar to that of solid wood flooring.
Waterproof and moisture-proof: SPC flooring has excellent waterproof performance and is suitable for humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms.
Wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant: The surface has been specially treated with high wear resistance and corrosion resistance, suitable for use in high-traffic areas.
Fire-retardant: The fire rating reaches B1, with good flame retardant performance, and it will automatically extinguish after leaving the fire source.
Comfort: It has a certain degree of elasticity and foot comfort, which can reduce foot fatigue when walking.
What is SPC Flooring Herringbone?

What is EIR?
EIR stands for Embossed-in-Register, providing texturing that follows the wood graining of the design print layer creating realistic wood visuals. If you run your hand over the flooring, you’ll notice something remarkable. You feel fine indentations that match the underlying photograph of a wood plank, similar to the grain of a plank cut from a tree. The embossing that creates the indentations must align perfectly with the image of the wood or stone in order to achieve this extremely realistic 3-dimensional appearance. This precise alignment is known as embossed-in-register (EIR). The embossed physical grain of the wear layer is married to the image film.
Herringbone SPC Flooring Installation
- Starting from one corner of the room, lay the first floorboard on the ground, making sure that the floorboard is aligned with the wall corner.
- Using the herringbone method. Pattern composition: The herringbone is arranged symmetrically in a “V” shape, and the angle between a single floor and the reference line is 45° (or adjusted to 60° according to the design). The second floor is mortise and tenoned with the short side of the first floor, and the long side is aligned with the reference line at 45°, forming a single side of the “V”. The third floor is symmetrically spliced on the other side of the second floor, aligned with the long side of the first floor, completing a complete “V” unit.
- Lay the remaining floorboards one by one, making sure to keep the gaps between the floorboards consistent, and use a rubber hammer to gently tap the floorboards to make them fit tightly.
- For irregular edges or corners, cut and adjust to ensure that the gaps between the floorboards and the wall are even.
